To commemorate the 21st anniversary of Selena's fifth and final studio album, the beloved Tejana singer-songwriter will be immortalized with a wax figure in Hollywood after nearly 10,000 people signed a Change.org petition.
The world-famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Hollywood will unveil their figure of "The Queen of Tejano Music" on August 30.
The press release from Madame Tussauds included a statement from the late singer's family.
“On behalf of our family we would like to express a huge amount of gratitude to Madame Tussauds in creating such an amazing lifelike wax figure of our beloved Selena," said Suzette Arriaga, Selena's sister. "This is yet another step in making sure that her legacy lives on and that her fans new and old can appreciate her as a person, an artist and one whom we can all identify with.”

Colin Thomas, general manager of Madame Tussauds Hollywood stated that their figures represent icons who have made a significant impact on American culture.
"That perfectly describes Selena. Her influence has transcended generations and her passionate fans continue to be inspired by her to this day," stated Thomas. "We recognize this and in response, we are proud to join her fans in celebrating her legacy by immortalizing her.”
The figure, which will be valued around $350,000, will recreate her appearance at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, TX on Feb 7, 1993.

On June 29, Selena's family announced she will be commemorated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame more than 22 years after her death.
Quintanilla was the top Tejana and Latina artist in both the U.S. and Mexico before her tragic murder in 1995. She was 23.
