In an interview with Today show's Savannah Guthrie, award-winning actor Benicio del Toro spoke of his new starring role in the upcoming movie "Sicario," about the world of drug trafficking. When Guthrie commented that you don't always know who is good and who is bad in the film, del Toro said, "You understand what they're doing, but you don't know if their tactics are the right ones."
Del Toro won an Academy Award for his role in the movie "Traffic" and also won awards for his role in "The Usual Suspects."
In a recent New York Times article, the Puerto Rican actor talked about the fact that many of his well-known roles have been in movies about the world of drugs and drug trafficking.
"I don't know how it comes about, but all I can say is I'm an actor in this time," said del Toro. "Movies borrow from their times. These stories are out there in the newspapers."
Speaking of his many roles about that intense world, del Toro told Guthrie, "I"ve played all the angles."
Del Toro has also said he will be part of the cast of the upcoming "Star Wars: Episode VIII."
