1. Thai Cops Hunt Suspect in Bangkok Bombing
A man in a yellow shirt is being sought by Thai police in connection with a bombing at a Bangkok shrine that killed at least 22 people. Surveillance video of the man shows him carrying a backpack near the scene of Monday's bombing and then later without the bag. A second explosive was thrown from a bridge in the Thai capital on Tuesday, but no one was hurt. Read more in NEWS.
2. 38 Bodies Found at Site of Indonesia Plane Crash
At least 38 bodies have been found among the wreckage of a Trigana Air Service plane that crashed in Indonesia with 54 people on board. The ATR 42-300 passenger plane crashed Sunday during flight from Sentani Airport in Jayapura to Oksibil that should have lasted less than an hour. Rescuers reached the wreckage on Tuesday. 3. Landmark: Two Women Pass Army Ranger School
For the first time ever, two women have successfully completed the Army's elite Ranger school, one of the toughest combat training courses in the world. Only 96 of the 400 soldiers who begin the program will graduate Friday after five months of rigorous training exercises. Nineteen women were originally part of the 400 soldiers. Read more in NEWS.
4. $100 Million a Week Spent to Fight Western Wildfires
Dozens of wildfires are wreaking havoc across Oregon, Idaho, Washington state and California. The U.S. Forest Service says it is spending over $100 million a week on fires and will burn through its annual blaze-battling budget within a week. Read more in NEWS.
5. Does Constitution Promise Citizenship to Those Born in U.S.?
Republican candidate Donald Trump said in his immigration policy proposal that he wants to end automatic U.S. citizenship for children born to immigrants who are in the country illegally. But the 14th Amendment states: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside." 6. Rape Trial Targets Sexual Culture at Prep School
A former student at the prestigious St. Paul's School went on trial Monday on charges he raped a 15-year-old girl on campus. The trial is expected to highlight allegedly unsavory aspects of the boarding school's on-campus sexual culture — including accusations of graduating boys' competitive pursuit of younger students. 7. Marijuana Industry Struggles to Find Workers
While customers for legal and medical marijuana in states where it's legal are not in short supply, workers willing to get into the industry are hard to come by. Many are paid in cash and don't get health insurance or a matched 401K because of federal laws that prevent many marijuana industry employers from opening bank accounts. Read more in BUSINESS.
