1. Hillary's Waterloo: Clinton returns to Iowa
The former secretary of state is returning to the state that plagued her nearly eight years ago to again make her case to Democrats and to the country that she's the candidate who can best represent the famously meticulous voters of Iowa. Clinton's third-place finish in the 2008 Iowa caucuses paved the way for her ultimate defeat by Barack Obama. 2. Analysis: Here's why Clinton is likely to win
In terms of the primary, Clinton is right now the strongest non-incumbent candidate from either party since then-Vice President Al Gore ran in 2000. Dozens of members of Congress have already endorsed Clinton, her campaign staff includes some of the most experienced strategists in the Democratic Party. 3. 800,000 kids forced to flee Boko Haram: UNICEF
UNICEF's "Missing Childhoods" report was released on the eve of the anniversary of the mass abduction of 276 schoolgirls from the rural town of Chibok. Read more in NEWS.
4. U.S. protests intercept of reconnaissance plane by Russia
Pentagon spokesman Mark Wright on Sunday said the U.S. was filing a complaint to Russia after the April 7 incident over the Baltic Sea. Russian officials have denied their pilot did anything wrong, according to several news reports. Read more in NEWS.
5. Case blaming gun shop for cops' injuries goes to trial
The officers are seeking financial compensation and are suing for negligence, claiming that the West Milwaukee gun shop didn't have enough safeguards in place to prevent firearms from getting in the wrong hands. Read more in NEWS.
6.1-year-old fatally shot by another child
"It’s a sad day for Cleveland," said Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams during a news conference Sunday afternoon. Williams told NBC affiliate WKYC that investigators believe a 3-year-old fired the shot that killed the 1-year-old at a home in the city's east side. The infant was pronounced dead at the hospital. 7. Mom who was told daughter died meets her 49 years later
A mother who was mistakenly told by nurses almost five decades ago that her baby died after childbirth has finally been reunited with her daughter. Gilmore was adopted following the error and became deaf after she caught measles aged 3. She found her mother after her children started to look for their real grandparents online. They were reunited on Thursday after Gilmore flew to St. Louis. Read more in NEWS.
