America’s most beloved and most decorated figure skater, Michelle Kwan, who won nine U.S. championships, five world championships, and silver and bronze Olympic medals, has signed on to work with Hillary Clinton’s Presidential campaign. Kwan confirmed the move with a tweet yesterday.
According to the New York Times, Kwan will work from Clinton’s Brooklyn headquarters on campaign outreach and voter engagement, focusing on issues critical to working families.
Kwan has a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University and has served in the U.S. State Department under Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice as America’s first Public Diplomacy Envoy. She was appointed by President Obama to the President's Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition and has worked in the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Kwan joins another prominent Asian American on Clinton’s presidential campaign, Maya Harris, who was recently appointed to lead a team of three senior policy advisors in the development of Clinton’s policy agenda. Harris is a law professor, a former senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, and the sister of California Attorney General Kamala Harris.
