How did you get here?
I joined the Administration after nearly 8 years on the Hill working on natural resources policy. Coming from the driest state in the nation shaped my passion for water and science policy, which I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work on at Interior.
Who or what has been the greatest influence on your career?
My mother. As an engineer, registered nurse, and a mother to three children, she showed me that you don't have to choose between personal and professional goals. I hope to share those same values with my daughter as a new mother myself. But first we need to get sleeping through the night down.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment during the Obama administration?
My greatest accomplishment is helping to move legislation that President Obama signed into law providing water certainty to seven Native American tribes and Pueblos; and now working at Interior and seeing that law implemented.
