Celebrity German polar bear Flocke and her Russian companion are moving to a new home in southern France.

Flocke, born in December 2007, was raised by keepers at the zoo in Nuremberg after her mother rejected her.

The city of Nuremberg said Wednesday that Flocke will move to the Marineland zoo at Antibes in southern France at the beginning of 2010. It says the enclosure in Nuremberg is needed for future breeding of polar bears.

Flocke will be moving along with a young male bear, Rasputin, who was brought to Nuremberg from Moscow in December. The Nuremberg city statement says the bears "get along famously."
