Msnbc.com is looking for a great SDE who will work to deliver projects within our Video Development team. In order to be successful on this team, the SDE candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, quick turnaround environment. The successful candidates must show strong aptitude for web development in a large scale environment, good communication and technical skills, and collaboration.
Position requires deep experience of Flash development using Action Script 2.0 and 3.0 and working knowledge of web and XML technologies such as HTML/DHTML/CSS, C#, SQL, IIS, multiple browser types and configurations, XML/XSL/XSLT, scripting languages (ASP, VBScript, Jscript) with fluency in one programming language. A minimum of a BS degree in computer science or related program and five years experience in a software development related field required. Experience allocating work and managing the deliverables of remote/international development resources is a huge plus!
Primary responsibility drive the architectural development of quality projects and processes in an n-tier environment designed and developed by peer Program Management and Development teams.
This includes reviewing functional and design specifications, creating development design documentation, articulating and implementing development designs and working with other members of the development team through the release process.
Experience Required:
5 years of web and software development experience, including superior Flash AS3/HTML/DHTML/CSS knowledge with a solid understanding of browser differences in page rendering, advanced XML/XSL/XSLT knowledge, a minimum of 3 years experience in shared development with C#, ASP.NET, Web Services, SOAP, and other Internet Protocols, and solid SQL database development skills.
• ActionScript 2 or ActionScript 3 development experience (AS3 strongly preferred)
• Experience with OOP, design patterns, and code standards
• Strong knowledge of Flash video, video player technologies, Flash Media Server, CDNs
• Web services integration (XML, JSON)
• Code and graphics optimization
• Testing, debugging and bug-squashing
