A Wisconsin prison inmate has been accused of helping his suicidal cellmate hang himself with a bedsheet.

Joshua Walters was charged Wednesday with assisted suicide in the asphyxiation death of Adam Peterson.

Peterson's body was found Jan. 10, about one month after the 20-year-old was transferred to Dodge Correctional Institution. He previously tried to commit suicide at a county jail.

A criminal complaint says Walters told another inmate he persuaded Peterson to commit suicide and helped prepare the noose.

Walters, who's serving time for burglary, told detectives he had nothing to do with the death.

If convicted, Walters faces up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Court records didn't indicate he had a lawyer.
