Police say a Los Angeles woman whose body was found in the trunk of her car had been reported missing a week earlier.

Police officer Sam Park said Sunday that relatives of 22-year-old Denise Figueroa reported her missing on Feb. 28. Her body was found Saturday by police following an anonymous tip sent by fax to a television station.

County coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie says an autopsy will likely be performed on Monday to determine a cause of death.

Police say the fax named two men, one of which was described as the killer and the other as the person who helped clean the car in which the body was placed. One man is being held in jail on an unrelated charge.
