Job Web site operator Monster Worldwide Inc. said Wednesday it formed a joint venture with Rupert Murdoch's News Ltd. for online and print recruitment services.
Terms were not disclosed.
Monster said the deal, which gives it 50 percent ownership of the Australian job Web site CareerOne, will broaden its global reach and strengthen its market position.
The joint venture will initially use both the CareerOne and Monster brands and will remain at its Sydney, Australia headquarters, where News Ltd. is based.
News Ltd., a unit of Murdoch's News Corp., runs 140 newspapers that reach almost 12 million people weekly.
