Taylor Swift is closing out the end of an era with all-new documentary series coming at the end of the year.
Fresh off a week-long promo week celebrating the release of her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” the pop superstar is ending with a big announcement: Swift is releasing a six-episode series following her behind the scenes of her historic “Eras Tour.”
She will also release an extended version of the “Eras Tour” concert film that includes her “Tortured Poets Department” set, coming to Disney+ Dec. 12.
In a press release, Disney+ said the “The End of an Era” docuseries chronicles “the development, impact, and inner-workings that created the phenomenon that was The Eras Tour” and gives an “intimate look” at Swift’s life as she brought the tour across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
“We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down,” Swift wrote Monday in a post on Instagram.
The docuseries will include appearances from her fellow stage performers, family members and friends, such as Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran and Florence Welch, according to a press release.
The extended concert film, titled “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show” and directed by Glenn Weiss, was filmed in Vancouver, the final stop of the tour. It features the entire set of “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was added to “The Eras Tour” following the album’s release in April 2024.
The “Eras Tour” concert film originally premiered in movie theaters in October 2023 before it hit Disney+ the following March.
“People like to talk about phenomenons almost as if it was pieces falling into place as if it just happened,” Swift says in a voice-over of the docuseries promo.
“‘The Eras Tour’ wasn’t when all the pieces fell into place; this tour was just when every single one of us had done so much work, pushing inch by inch, to where we all clicked together. We have broken every single record with this tour. The only thing left is to close the book.”
