Former President Donald Trump will meet with congressional Republicans in Washington, D.C., this week, sources familiar with the meetings told NBC News.

Trump will meet in the morning with House Republicans at the Capitol Hill Club, two congressional officials with knowledge of plans said. He will then meet with Republican senators in the afternoon at the National Republican Senatorial Committee headquarters after addressing the Business Roundtable, a lobbying group, four sources with knowledge of that meeting said.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., both said they plan to attend. It'll be McConnell's first in-person meeting with Trump since 2020. He and the former president have a tense relationship, though McConnell did endorse Trump for re-election this year. The two have not spoken since December 2020, on the day after the Electoral College declared President Joe Biden the winner of the 2020 election; McConnell publicly congratulated Biden on his victory that day and then got a call from Trump.

On Monday, June 17, Johnson and North Carolina Rep. Richard Hudson, who chairs the National Republican Congressional Committee, will head to Mar-a-Lago for a separate meeting with Trump to give him an update on congressional races, four sources familiar with the meeting told NBC News.

Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., who is No. 3 in the Senate Republican leadership, told fellow GOP senators in an e-mail obtained by NBC News: "I believe it will be helpful to hear directly from President Trump about his plans for the summer and to also share our ideas for a strategic governing agenda in 2025."

A senior Trump campaign official confirmed that the meetings with be policy-focused, “looking ahead at the policies that will save the nation, such as Trump’s commitment to no impact on seniors with any cuts to Social Security or Medicare, policies that actually secure our borders and make our communities safe again, and an America first foreign policy that reclaims peace through strength and world leadership and economic policies of lower taxes that reignite the vibrant trump economy we had just a few years ago.”
