Twenty years after the "X-Files" premiere, rabid fans still want to believe FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are somewhere out there, living happily ever after. It's a dream the show's staring actors, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are always happy to indulge, and fan fiction they continue to inspire.

On Tuesday, nine months after they were the toast of Comic-Con 2013, the two engaged in a brief Twitter tête–à–tête,and the Internet exploded. Much productivity was lost that day.

(Is it a coincidence that the latest work by the infamous graffiti artist known as "Banksy" looks a whole lot like "X-Files" fan art? The truth is out there! We want to believe!)
