Attorney General Eric Holder and Tea Party-affiliated Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas exchanged testy words Tuesday as the two men clashed over the threat of another vote to hold the attorney general in contempt.
Questioning Holder during a hearing of the House Judiciary Committee, Gohmert hinted at a repeat of the 2012 House contempt vote against the Department of Justice head over a dispute involving the Fast and Furious gun operation.
"I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight," Gohmert said, this time accusing Holder's DOJ of failing to hand over adequate information regarding a terror funding trial.
Holder shot back: " You don't want to go there, buddy, all right?"
"You should not assume that that is not a big deal to me. I think that it was inappropriate," Holder added. " I think it was unjust. But never think that that was not a big deal to me. Don't ever think that."
