How did you get here?
I previously served in the Office of the White House Counsel where I worked with my current boss and he asked me to join him at the Department of Energy once he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the General Counsel. I have had the privilege of serving in multiple roles in this Administration for which I am grateful, including at the White House and the President’s 2008 campaign.
Who or what has been the greatest influence on your career?
My parents have been a huge influence in my life and career—they emigrated from India when they were younger than I am now and wanted me and my sister to experience the unique opportunities available in this country. They taught me the importance of leaving the world in a better place to future generations than how you found it which is one of the reasons why I enjoy working on cutting-edge energy technologies to provide access to clean energy around the world.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment during the Obama administration?
My greatest accomplishment in the Administration has been to play a small part in appropriately incentivizing and highlighting clean energy technologies to thrive in the market.
Can you describe your time working for the Obama administration in 10 words?
Fulfilling, team-oriented, mission-driven and share with colleagues whom I admire.
