Internet trolls will be quite unhappy to hear that Facebook is getting one step closer to stopping them.

The social network is rolling out a new feature targeting impostor profiles, according to Mashable.

The new “Impersonation Checkpoint” tool alerts a user if it finds that another account is using the same name and profile photo. The user then confirms if it is, or more importantly, is not them. Accounts flagged as phony by a user get manually reviewed by Facebook's gatekeepers, Mashable reports.

Although, the alert is automated, each questionable account will be manually reviewed by a real life Facebook employee. Facebook confirmed the details of the Mashable story to NBC News.

The company has been committed to keeping the site free of impostors, stating in its policy that “Facebook is a community where people use their authentic identities. We require people to provide the name they use in real life; that way, you always know who you're connecting with. This helps keep our community safe.”

The feature has been in testing since last November and is now available to about 75 percent of users around the world, with plans to expand.
