The rock band U2 postponed its Saturday concert in Paris, saying they are “devastated” by the attacks that killed at least 127 people Friday.

"We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight," U2 said in a statement. The show was to be broadcast live by HBO.

French President Francois Hollande called the violence "terrorist attacks of an unprecedented magnitude."

Suicide bombers blew themselves up near a stadium where 80,000 people were watching a France-Germany soccer match, while gunmen opened fire at a restaurant and a concert venue. Eight attackers believed to have carried out the violence are dead, officials said.

In the attack at the concert venue, the Bataclan theater, gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons as the California band Eagles of Death Metal were scheduled to play.

Police officials told The Associated Press that at least 100 people were killed in that attack. The assailants blew themselves up with suicide belts as police closed in, Paris police prefect Michel Cadot.
