Bobbi Kristina Brown, the only daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, used marijuana and may have used crack cocaine and heroin in the days before she was found unresponsive in a bathtub of her home early this year, a former roommate has testified in a Georgia lawsuit.
The roommate, Danyela D. Bradley, made the remarks in a videotaped deposition as part of a lawsuit against Ford Motor Co. filed by Russell J. Eckerman, who is seeking damages in connection with an auto accident just three days before Brown was discovered unconscious.
Brown, 22, never regained consciousness and died July 26. Eckerman, 41, of the Atlanta suburb of Marietta, alleges that the crash severely injured him and left him with medical bills of more than $730,000.
In the deposition, which was given Sept. 24 and acquired this week by NBC station WXIA of Atlanta, Eckerman claims that Brown was speeding and tailgating when she lost control of her car and collided with his Ford Taurus on Jan. 27.
Bradley, who lived with Brown and her former boyfriend, Nick Gordon, in Atlanta, testified that she saw Brown use marijuana and that while she'd never personally seen Brown use harder drugs, "she probably smoked crack often, and also did heroin."
"I would just visually see her physical being and I could just tell," Bradley testified. "She wouldn't have to tell me.
Eckerman's suit is separate from the civil suit filed against Gordon by Brown's estate, which alleges that Gordon drugged the young woman with a "toxic cocktail" and then tried to drown her in the tub Jan. 31.
