A small plane crashed into a house near the border of California and Nevada on Saturday, an FAA official said.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Alan Kenitzer said local authorities had indicated there were two people aboard the Beech 35 Bonanza, which crashed after taking off from California's Lake Tahoe Airport at around 5:30 p.m. local time (8:30 p.m. ET).

The plane crashed into a house in South Lake Tahoe, Nevada, he said. There were no reports of injuries to anyone in the house.

Kenitzer said the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
