HOLLIS, New Hampshire — Hillary Clinton apologized once again Monday for using a private email server and said she never would have established a House select committee to investigate Benghazi "for political reasons" if the subject was a GOP candidate.
"I would never have done that. Look at the situation that they chose to exploit to go after me for political reasons — the death of four Americans in Benghazi," a visibly angry Clinton told NBC's Savannah Guthrie at a town hall event in Hollis.
"There have been seven investigations led mostly by Republicans in the Congress. And they were nonpartisan and they reached conclusions that first of all I and nobody did anything wrong but there were changes we could make," Clinton said.

"I knew the ambassador. I identified him. I asked him to go there. I asked the president to nominate him," she said.
The former secretary of state said the committee was established "for the purpose of making a partisan political issue out of the deaths of four Americans." Clinton said she "would have done everything to shut it down," but will be there on October 22 when she's set to testify on Capitol Hill.
When asked if she understood how bad the optics of the email controversy were, Clinton pushed back and said, "First of all, it was allowed."
Clinton admitted that she has some trouble connecting with voters and is a "more reserved person" than other politicians.
On recent poll numbers, Clinton said she was confident in her national performance but conceded she had "work to do in New Hampshire."
