In an interview with Billboard, entertainer Jennifer Lopez said Selena, who was killed by her fan club's president 20 years ago Tuesday, was an artist who moved the world in a different way and "that's why we're still talking about her 20 years later."

Lopez, whose breakout film role was a portrayal of the slain Tejana singer and international star, said the tragic death of Selena gave her inspiration to go beyond acting and to become a solo and recording artist.

The actress, whose fame has made her recognizable as simply JLo, said Selena's death made her realize life is short and the future uncertain.

Even though she played Selena, Lopez said its bothersome that Latino stars that have come along since her death might be called the next Selena. "It's like saying there's another James Dean or another Marilyn Monroe," Lopez said to Billboard. "People like that don't come along every day. There is never going to be another Selena."
