Twin stillborn fetuses were accidentally thrown out in a Nevada hospital's dirty laundry Tuesday and were later found in the laundry service's truck, the hospital confirmed Tuesday night.

The mother arrived at Spring Valley Hospital in Henderson, about 10 miles southeast of Las Vegas, carrying the stillborn premature twins after she miscarried, Valley Health System said in a brief statement.

The dead infants were already wrapped in linens when she arrived, said the hospital system, which gave no further details, saying it was still trying to work out how and why the bodies were disposed of in the laundry.

The Clark County coroner's office had no comment pending its investigation. Henderson police said they were treating the incident as an accident and didn't expect to file any charges.
