Saturday marked two years since anyone has seen or heard from Nicole Waller; the mother of three mysteriously vanished on February 14th, 2013 while driving from Fairview to Kalispell, Montana.
At the time, Waller was 32-years-old, and was traveling back to Kalispell to see her children. Officials would later find her maroon 1999 Ford Expedition abandoned on the side of Highway 2 outside Poplar. Inside were her belongings and her children’s pet guinea pigs.
A “number of factors point to foul play” in Waller’s disappearance, according to a press release from investigators sent last year. Investigators will not go into further detail besides saying the case is being investigated as a homicide.
“If someone out there has any information, no matter how inconsequential that person thinks it may be, it could be what we need to break this case open,” Mark Hilyard of the Montana Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation told KXLH in 2013.
Nicole, who went by the nickname “Nicky”, was very close to her family and her three young children. Her sister, Carmen Willis Keibler, recently wrote on the “Find Nicole Waller” Facebook page:
“Two years of unanswered questions, two years of pain. Things have not gotten any easier. I feel if anything they have gotten harder.”
