What happens to families still split by the travel ban?

When the Trump administration defended the so-called “travel ban” in front of the Supreme Court, it argued the ban included a waiver provision allowing exemptions on a case-by-case basis. However, in practice, lawyers and refugee resettlement experts say the process isn’t working and a group of organizations is suing the administration over what they say are “blanket” denials. Meanwhile, some families remain split: part made it to the United States while the rest remain back home.
