‘A glimmer of hope’: Palestinians react to statehood recognition

Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza welcome decisions by the U.K., Australia and Canada to formally recognize a Palestinian state, a move that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pushed back on. One displaced Palestinian fleeing Israel’s expanded military operation in Gaza City called the recognition “a glimmer of hope for the Palestinian people.”
