Government shutdown inches closer with little progress on Capitol Hill

The government will potentially shutdown by the end of the week if Congress can’t compromise on a deal. A procedural vote is expected in the Senate on a temporary funding bill that could delay the shutdown until November, but it’s unlikely House Republicans will move forward with it.
