Students test scores plunge amid the pandemic

After two and a half years of Covid-19 disruptions, the National Assessment of Education Progress found that third and fourth graders lost ground in math for the first time ever. In reading, the numbers dropped more than they have in 30 years. For years, educators have said disparities in education were growing and now the pandemic may have worsened them.
