Ukrainian President Zelenskyy hails E.U. leaders’ visit to Kyiv as 'historic'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday described a visit to Ukraine by the leaders of Germany, France and Italy as "historic" and said "big steps" were made during their meeting. After holding talks with Zelenskyy, the three European leaders signalled that Ukraine should be granted European Union candidate status, a symbolic gesture that would draw Kyiv closer to the economic bloc.
