Martha Stewart is getting into the music business.
The domestic diva's company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and Sony Corp.'s BMG business agreed to form a joint venture, Martha Stewart Living Music, which will release a series of compilation albums for holidays and special occasions, MSO said Monday.
The music business will launch with the release of "Martha Stewart Living Music: The Holiday Collection" by Epic Records.
The initial albums are a holiday collection compiled by Martha Stewart that will be released individually and as a three-disc boxed set.
The holiday set will include traditional, jazz and classical holiday music.
The individual releases will include a holiday recipe from MSO and all boxed set collections will include 30 recipe cards, decorating tips and craft ideas.
MSO, with 2004 revenue of $187.4 million, has operations in publishing, television and merchandising. Stewart's family controls about 55 percent of MSO's stock.
