One New Jersey woman managed to pick up more than just a few tricks of the trade at her summer public relations internship. Courtney Handel is being charged with theft by deception for posing as Jessica Simpson’s assistant, Cacee Cobb.

The 23-year-old contacted several companies and requested over $12,000 worth of samples.

Handel was arrested on Friday and charged with theft by deception, a crime to similar identity theft. Included in the haul were seven pairs of Frye cowboy boots.
