Some 30 officers raided a house in Manchester at around 5 a.m. and arrested a 40-year-old man under Britain’s anti-terrorism laws, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said.

The suspect is believed to have shared the house with another man who traveled to Iraq to take part in a suicide bombing that targeted coalition forces, the spokesman said.

Britain has some 8,500 troops in Iraq, most in the southern city of Basra. Since the start of the war 88 Britain troops have been killed in Iraq.
