WINTERSET, Iowa – A Winterset man was seriously injured in a glider crash Thursday evening.

WINTERSET, Iowa – A Winterset man was seriously injured in a glider crash Thursday evening.

Authorities say 54-year-old Pat Cook’s glider clipped a power line at about 8 p.m. west of Winterset.

The glider somersaulted in the air then slammed into the ground nose first.

Cook suffered broken arms, legs and head trauma.

He was air lifted from the scene but we’re told he didn’t lose consciousness.
