Secretary of State John Kerry met one cool cat at the White House this December—Snoop Lion.

The legendary rapper (formerly known as Snoop Dogg and, legally, as Calvin Broadus) ran into America’s top diplomat at a White House event celebrating this year’s Kennedy Center honorees—Billy Joel, Carlos Santana, Herbie Hancock, Shirley MacLaine, and Martina Arroyo—in early December.

On Dec. 26, Snoop released photo and video of the event on Instagram; the secretary of state later retweeted it.

“You gave me a good pound,” Kerry said after the pair bumped fists.
