Martin Luther King III, human rights activist and eldest son of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Democrat from the District of Columbia who was an organizer of the 1963 March on Washington, and Reverend Al Sharpton, President of the National Action Network and host of MSNBC’s Politics Nation, will speak with Chris Hayes about Dr. King’s speech on that momentous day 50 years ago.

Chris Matthews, host of MSNBC’s Hardball, will also join the table to talk about how the March on Washington was a flash point for the Democratic Party taking up the issue of civil rights.

To mark the anniversary Wednesday, President Obama spoke from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial about the legacy of the 1963 March on Washington and Dr. King’s work for civil rights. The first African-American president paid tribute to Dr. King and all the Americans who have worked to realize his vision of equality. Chris Hayes will review the highlights of the president’s remarks.

Later, Hayes will focus on how Americans are still working to advance the dream laid out by Dr. King. Phillip Agnew, Executive Director of the Dream Defenders, Myrlie Evers-Williams, Civil Rights Activist, Former NAACP Chair and Chairman of the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Institute, and Congresswoman Karen Bass of California will join the discussion about Trayvon Martin supporters, minimum wage strikers, Moral Monday protesters, and other groups fighting for equality for all.
