The White House has officially added Tumblr to its growing social media presence: whitehouse.tumblr.com.
The announcement Friday came with a message promising GIFs and pictures of First Dog Bo:
“We see some great things here at the White House every day, and sharing that stuff with you is one of the best parts of our jobs. That’s why we’re launching a Tumblr. We’ll post things like the best quotes from President Obama, or video of young scientists visiting the White House for the science fair, or photos of adorable moments with Bo. We’ve got some wonky charts, too. Because to us, those are actually kind of exciting.”
They are also asking people to submit their own ideas for posts, including questions for the administration and individual stories about how policy changes affect people.
Barack Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign was all over Tumblr before the election, and the account now operates under the nonprofit Organizing for Action.
