Have you ever wondered what really happened during the 1996 GOP primary? Steve Kornacki re-caps it during this week's Steve's Korner.

As our loyal fan base is aware, Cycle co-host Steve Kornacki loves history. He can recall polls from random elections that no one else remembers, without looking them up.

In a new web series, Steve Kornacki takes the viewer back in time. By picking a number randomly out of a hat he will recall what happened that many years ago and explains how it changed our nation’s history.

Previously, Kornacki took viewers back to the 1992 New Hampshire primary which played a pivotal role in Bill Clinton becoming the next president of the United States.

In this week’s episode, he goes back to 1996 and the battle between Pat Buchanan and Bob Dole for the GOP presidential ticket.

The week of March 1, 1996′ “was probably the best week of Dole’s campaign because there wasn’t much else to say about that,” Kornacki said.
