Video game publisher Mythic Entertainment on Tuesday said it has settled its trademark infringement lawsuit against Microsoft Corp. over a game published by the world's largest software maker.

Fairfax, Virginia-based Mythic sued Microsoft in December in federal court in eastern Virginia, saying that Microsoft's game for personal computers called "Mythica" infringes on its trademark and could cause confusion among consumers.
The privately held game company is best known for subscription online role-playing games like "Dark Ages of Camelot."
Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
As part of the settlement, Microsoft will not to use the term "Mythica" or any variation of that name for future online computer games, and would also drop its application to register Mythica as a trademark.
"Mythica," from Microsoft Game Studios, is centered on Norse mythology and players play as "Immortals" recruited by Norse gods.
Mythic's "Dark Ages of Camelot" also employs Norse images and mythology, and Mythic argued in its suit that the imagery in "Mythica" was too much like its own game.
