Anti-gun control advocates spoke out following the tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

Since the tragic shooting in Newtown, Conn., many gun rights activists have spoken out. Here, a sampling from social media:

Gun control discussions are easier than those about the decline of the two parent nuclear family. The latter has more to do with violence.— Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) December 15, 2012

Um, aside from being evil and criminal, trying to shoot up the NRA is a very stupid idea. You’ll get shot very quickly. nationalreview.com/corner/335839/…— Jonah Goldberg (@JonahNRO) December 17, 2012

Let’s regulate knives too. You can’t have steak knives in your kitchen anymore because a crazy person may stab someone with it.— Matthew Boyle (@mboyle1) December 14, 2012

Only one policy has ever been shown to deter mass murder: concealed-carry laws. – bit.ly/VGDNBo— Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) December 14, 2012

Two components to the best security system for a home or a school: God and a loaded gun.— Bryan Fischer (@BryanJFischer) December 15, 2012

Somebody else shooting that guy would have stopped him. Yes. Dead in his tracks before the tragedy grew larger. @patchesmc— Chris Loesch (@ChrisLoesch) December 14, 2012

Armed security guards at schools. End of story. Why is this so tough?— Ben Shapiro (@benshapiro) December 17, 2012

On Friday, attorney and conservative commentator, Mark Levin, said it was a disgrace for politicians to call for sharper gun controls.

“Not a single gun was used at the Oklahoma bombing,” he said. “If there is evil, we need to figure out how to deal with it as best we can; but we cannot eliminate it. These politicians who start to immediately, immediately—the bodies haven’t even been removed from the school—to push their agenda are a disgrace,” he said, according to audio on the Daily Caller.

And on Friday, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee told Fox News the shooting happened because “we removed God from our schools.”

HUCKABEE: Ultimately, you can take away every gun in America and somebody will use a gun. When somebody has an intent to do incredible damage, they’re going to find a way to do it… People will want to pass new laws, but unless you change people’s hearts, they’re our transition to the pastor side. This is a heart issue, it’s not something, laws don’t change this kind of thing.CAVUTO: You know, inevitably people ask after tragedies like this, how could God let this happen?HUCKABEE: Well, you know, it’s an interesting thing. When we ask why there is violence in our schools, but we’ve systematically removed God from our schools. Should we be so surprised that schools have become a place for carnage because we’ve made it a place where we don’t want to talk about eternity, life, responsibility, accountability? That we’re not just going to have to be accountable to the police, if they catch us. But one day, we will stand before a Holy God in judgment. If we don’t believe that, we don’t fear that.
