Departing flights were grounded at Denver International Airport for about an hour Wednesday after the airport’s main radar failed.
The radar was restored shortly after 7 p.m., airport spokesman Chuck Cannon said.
The cause of the failure wasn’t immediately known. The federal Transportation Security Administration did not immediately return a telephone message.
Outbound flights were halted at about 6 p.m., Cannon said. A few flights continued to land with the help of another FAA radar facility, while others were diverted to Colorado Springs Airport, about 55 miles south.
Cannon said it would take about 45 minutes for operations to get back to normal.
