Yesterday afternoon (Sept. 17), Mother Jones magazine made public a secret video taken at a meeting of Romney and donors earlier this year. In it, the presidential candidate said that 47 percent of Americans don't pay income taxes and assumed them all to be Obama supports, saying, "I'll never convince those people that they have to take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

As revealing videos go, many people consider this to be a doozy — so much so that it had already captured 2.4 million views by the next morning, according to analytics firm Visible Measures in a blog post today. The "Eastwooding" video, in comparison, racked up just 550,000 views in its first 24 hours, according to the firm.

To further put it in perspective, Visible Measures reported last week that the entire Republican convention 7.3 million views.

The election is still nearly two months away, however. Who knows what else will burn up YouTube.
