A Houston mother has been accused of hurting her 3-month-old daughter.
Shanice Williams, 25, has been charged with injury to a child.
According to court documents, Williams pushed her daughter with her hand and a syringe or nasal aspirator, commonly used to clear a child's nose of mucus.
"She's a good mother, said Williams' husband, Christian Reeves."It's bad what they accuse her of, even though it was an accident."
Detectives said Williams admitted that she used her full body weight to press on her infant's face while the aspirator was in the child's nose.
Police said there were several instances of abuse.
Williams said that her daughter screamed in pain when she pushed on her, investigators said.
According to court documents, the baby was taken to a hospital, where doctors noticed that her nose was fractured and she was malnourished.
Children's Protective Services has taken custody of the child and Williams' 4-year-old son.
Williams is being held in the Harris County Jail with bond set at $20,000. She does not have a criminal history.
