A 4-year-old boy accidentally shot himself in the foot inside a mobile home on the Southside on Thursday afternoon, according to Jacksonville police.
Officers were investigating the shooting in the 1700 block of Leon Road.
Police said there were adults in the home at the time. They were being questioned.
Police said it's uncertain how the boy got access to the gun.
He was taken to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
No one has been charged, but the case remains under investigation.
