Spotify, the hit music listening app tied closely to Facebook, has extended unlimited free music listening — indefinitely. In January, the company said its users would have to pony up $5 a month for its  premium service if they wanted to listen to more than 10 hours of music a month and hear a single more than five times. Bluff called. Why? Spotify says on its blog that "it's our way of saying thanks to the U.S." for its overwhelming use of the music-streaming service. According to a report from VentureBeat, Spotify is seeking new funding. So enjoy it while you can. And remember, if you suffer from an occasional need to binge on Barry Manilow, you can turn on  a private session — that way, your friends on Facebook will never know. In another magnanimous move, Spotify today launched its history of music timeline on Facebook. You can learn when Frank Sinatra released his first album, when Britney released "…Baby One More Time," and other music history milestones.
