TODAY launched the new Facebook Pages design this morning, giving millions of people a new way to connect with the brand. The fresh functionality debuted to TODAY’s broadcast audience of 5 million and Facebook fan base of more than 1.55 million.*
“The Facebook platform is a key partner as we continue to push the TODAY brand in new directions,” said Jen Brown, TODAY Digital Director. “We want people of all ages to share our rich history and help us create the future.”
The new Facebook Page timeline allows fans to explore milestones in TODAY’s 60-year history, in addition to consuming the latest news throughout the day. Fans can easily access key moments like the first-ever broadcast with Dave Garroway in 1952 and the inaugural broadcasts of both Matt Lauer and Ann Curry. Iconic series like Matt’s reports from “Where in the World” and TODAY’s Halloween celebrations on the Plaza are also easy to find in the new design.
TODAY was first to debut Facebook timeline for personal pages in December 2011 (), on Ann’s page (). Most recently, TODAY launched the Facebook Timeline app, allowing people to easily share TODAY stories and videos with their Facebook friends.
