Time Warner Inc. is considering strategic alternatives for its America Online division including a possible sale, spin-off or a significant restructuring, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.
In a story citing unnamed sources the Post said people at Time Warner's banker Goldman Sachs are preparing a proposal for the Internet business.
Executives are expected to consider the various options for the division after Time Warner's next board meeting in April, the story said.
Talk of an AOL sale or spin-off is a "rumor" and the company talks to bankers all the time, Time Warner spokesman Ed Adler told the Post.
Time Warner was not immediately available to comment.
