The case of an infant's body that was found in Oxon Hill is now being investigated as a homicide.

Police in Prince George's County said Tuesday that the death of a full-term fetus was a homicide.

The baby was found Monday morning as landscapers were working on a construction site near the 5400 block of Livingston Terrace in Oxon Hill.

A preliminary autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner showed that the infant was alive before it was placed in a grocery bag and dumped in Oxon Hill.

The infant was described as a black male weighing about 7 pounds. He was inside a plastic Save-A-Lot grocery store bag.

Anyone with information about the boy's parents should call Prince George's County police at (301) 772-4925.
