BreakingNews, the fastest source of breaking news on the web, today unveiled a United Kingdom edition of BreakingNews in partnership with MSN. BreakingNews.com and MSN UK rolled out a redesigned news section that will publish coverage around the clock, with a new focus on real-time news in the United Kingdom.
BreakingNews combines editorial expertise and the latest technology into a Twitter-like stream of real-time updates, curated around the clock, from hundreds of news sources and verified eyewitness accounts in social media. BreakingNews.com is produced by the same team that powers the popular @breakingnews account on Twitter (http://twitter.com/breakingnews) and the BreakingNews Facebook page (www.facebook.com/breakingnews). The BreakingNews UK team of journalists, based in London, launched a new Twitter account, @breakingnewsUK, which complements @breakingnews with UK-focused updates.

BreakingNews.com users can tip the editorial team around the clock by submitting links to Tweets, YouTube clips and photo sharing services. Users can also see which stories are popular at any given moment, calculated in part by how quickly stories are being shared and clicked on Twitter and Facebook.
News organizations in the UK that frequently break original stories can add #breaking and @breakingnews to their tweets to inform the BreakingNews UK editorial team about their news, moments after the tweet is sent. More than 160 publishers have shared tips about their exclusive stories and latest news, which allows the Breaking News team to share the story and credit that news organization faster.
MSN UK is BreakingNews’ first editorial distribution partnership.
