At 7 a.m. Sunday, the center of Nate was at 19.4 North and 96.3 West, or about 15 miles north-northwest of Veracruz, Mexico. It had maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and was moving southwest at 10 mph.

A tropical storm warning is in effect in Mexico from Tampico to Veracruz.

"A westward to southwestward motion is expected to continue Sunday, bringing the center of Nate inland over the Mexican state of Veracruz," the National Hurricane Center said.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 85 miles from the center.
