A 30-year-old Polish man was indicted Friday for the murders of six people on the British Channel Island of Jersey.

Police said Damian Rzeszowski was brought before the island's Royal Court for the murders of three adults and three children in a frenzied stabbing spree on Aug. 14.

He is suspected of killing his wife and their two children and three other people, including his wife's father.

Police have been questioning Rzeszowki since his release from the hospital on Wednesday for knife injuries that witnesses said were self inflicted.

The murders stunned Jersey, an affluent 45-square-mile British Crown dependency with a population of 90,000.

Police said the case is scheduled to be back in court on Oct. 28.
